Completed Birkebeinerrennet — Norway’s legendary 54km cross-country ski race from Rena to Lillehammer. One of the great Norwegian rites of passage.
Norway’s Birkebeinerrennet is more than a race — it’s a national tradition dating back to 1206, when Birkebeiner loyalists carried the infant heir to the Norwegian throne 54km over mountains to safety. Every skier carries a 3.5kg backpack symbolizing that child. It’s one of the most demanding races in the Worldloppet circuit.
Trained through the Norwegian winter for the 54km classic-technique course from Rena to Lillehammer. Two-thirds of the race crosses barren mountain terrain — in terms of total climbing, it’s the most demanding Worldloppet race.
Carried the mandatory 3.5kg backpack the entire distance, connecting to a tradition that has been going since 1932.
Crossed the finish line in Lillehammer. One of those experiences that connects you to something much bigger than yourself — centuries of Norwegian history, compressed into one brutal and beautiful day on skis.
